The IFSR is a registered non-profit association under Austrian law. The activities of the association are not aimed at generating profit.

Purpose of the Association
The aim of the IFSR is to stimulate all activities related to the scientific study of systems, meaning the study of complex entities, scientific reflections on them, and the coordination of these activities at the international level.

These aims are pursued by:

  • Coordinating systems research activities of individuals and organizations
  • Organizing international meetings, courses, workshops, and similar events
  • Publishing international publications in the field of systems research
  • Promoting education in systemic thinking
  • Maintaining standards and competence in systems research and education
  • Any other lawful means within the respective member countries that serve the purposes of the members in accordance with their constitutions or statutes
